Calling All Volunteers!!

The Halton Children’s Water Festival is a community initiative.

We require 150 volunteers, each day to help us during the 4 days of the 2008 Festival from September 23 - 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We also require the assistance of volunteers to help set up activities on Monday September 22, and dismantle the activities at the end of day Friday September 26.

You can volunteer for 1 or more days!

We are currently collecting names of potential volunteers for the 2008 Halton Children's Water Festival. Any class, school environmental group, community group, or community member can volunteer at the event. For information regarding volunteer opportunities please view the listing of volunteer positions.

Volunteers at the event will gain experience in teaching, public speaking, community outreach, and time management skills. Volunteers will also be provided with a Certificate of Appreciation, a Halton Children’s Water Festival t-shirt, a hearty lunch, and other goodies in appreciation of their efforts in helping to make the 2008 festival a success!

To volunteer as a member of the community, please complete the 2008 Halton Children’s Water Festival Volunteer Application form, and submit your completed request form by July 18, 2008.

Please note:  Community volunteer applicants will be required to successfully complete a Police Criminal Records Check, and a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) Records Check, to be eligible to volunteer at the 2008 Halton Children’s Water Festival in accordance with the 2008 Halton Children’s Water Festival Volunteer Policy.
